When I was a little girl, I always knew that I wanted to be a millionaire when I grew up. Every two weeks, I went to the bank with my mother and I was enthralled by the tellers – they were the ladies with the money! And after I grew up, I aspired to retire from the rat race as soon as possible. I figured out pretty quickly that money was the key to achieving both of these goals. After all, the sole purpose of getting money is to have options…like the option to retire when I want and on my terms.
While I still haven’t retired, I am much closer to my goal that I otherwise would’ve been had I not spent so much of my time spent learning about investing and other money-related things. In addition to learning about personal finance, I spend my spare time baking, travelling, enjoying my friends and family, and watching a little too much Netflix. I love reading personal finance blogs and have finally decided to add my voice to the conversation.
